Subscriber Alert
I've been contacted by a subscription agent to purchase a subscription to your magazine. Is this a legitimate offer?

Delivery Timing of new subscriptions
Magazines ordered directly through our website takes 4-6 weeks for the first issue to arrive. Orders through third parties depend greatly on that vendor’s policies.

Domestic address – first issue arrives in approximately 3-4 weeks
Canadian address – first issue arrives in approximately 4-6 weeks
Foreign address – first issue arrives in approximately 6-8 weeks
Australian address – first issue arrives in approximately 12 weeks

When does my subscription end?
You can find the expiration date of your subscription on the address label of your magazine.

Does my print subscription include any digital app/online archive/website formatted access?
A print subscription does include free access to the digital edition of the magazine but it does not include any access to paid content on the website.

Can I transfer from print to digital only?
If you prefer a digital only magazine experience, Fine Gardening does offer this option. Call Fine Gardening Customer Service at 1-877-787-5198, USA and Canada; 1-515-247-2991, International Mon-Fri 9am to 9pm ET, Sat – 9am to 7pm ET and we can help you make the switch to digital only.

How do I report a duplicate/missing/damaged issue?
If your issue arrived damaged or it has been several weeks after the magazine's cover date and you have yet to receive it, we'll replace it. Just let us know by logging on to your account here ; under the Account Summary tab, click on the red ‘Order Options’ button and select ‘Report Damaged/Missing Issue’.

Where can I purchase a copy of the magazine locally?
A current issue of Fine Woodworking , Fine Homebuilding, Threads, Fine Gardening or Fine Cooking magazine is available at bookstores like Barnes and Noble, local drug stores, grocery stores and many retail outlets.

How do I renew my print magazine subscription?
We mail or email renewal notices to you prior to the end of your subscription period to be sure you have ample time to renew. You can renew your magazine subscription by completing and returning the notice. You can also log into your account and renew click here.

How do I order a print subscription?
Ordering a print subscription to any of our five iconic magazines:Fine Woodworking,Fine Homebuilding,Fine Cooking,Fine Gardening, and Threads is simple, just click on the subscribe button on the homepage of each magazine.

Do you offer trial print subscriptions?
Yes, we do have a subscription offer that allows you to try the first issue of the subscription. Upon ordering, you will be invoiced for the full term of the subscription. When we receive your payment, the second issue of your subscription will be released and your subscription will continue uninterrupted for the remaining issues. To sign up for a trial print subscription, contact Customer Service Mon — Fri 9 am to 9 pm ET, Sat 9 am to 7 pm ET, and we can help you place a trial print subscription order.

How do I order a gift subscription?
Ordering a gift subscription to any Taunton publication is simple. Either click the subscribe button on the homepage (see links below) or contact Customer Service and we can help you place a print subscription order.

How do I cancel a subscription?
If you would like to cancel your print subscription, log on to your account here. Once logged in, locate the subscription you wish to cancel, select the ‘Order Options’ box on the right and then select ‘Cancel Order’.

Why have I been charged on my credit card?
If you see a charge on your card that you don’t recognize, it may be the automatic renewal of your subscription. When you signed up for your print subscription online, you authorized us to charge the card you provided to renew your subscription at the then current subscription rate, until you tell us to stop. Toward the end of each term we send a reminder notice before your card is charged and if there is ever a problem with your card, we’ll simply send you a bill. Of course you may change your automatic renewal status at any time by login into your account and clicking the red order option button next to your subscription listing and select ‘Change Auto-Renewal’.

How do I update my credit card information?
Add or update your credit card information at any time by logging into your account and clicking the red order option button next to your subscription listing and select ‘Change Credit Card’.

How do I turn off automatic renewal of my print subscription?
Change your automatic renewal status at any time by logging into your account and clicking the red order option button next to your subscription listing and select ‘Change Auto-Renewal’.

To post your comment, page down to the bottom of the article and log in to the site. You must be logged in to your registered account to comment. If you have never created an account, you will need to create an account to comment on an article.

A digital subscription is an electronic version of the magazine that you can read on an Apple or Android device after you have gone to iTunes or Google Play and acquired the App. It includes all the features of a print magazine plus enhanced content.
Digital subscriptions for Fine Gardening Magazine can be purchased directly from Taunton Press. Click here to subscribe to Fine Gardening Digital Subscription. Digital subscriptions payments are for one year only and your digital subscription will automatically renew each year until you cancel.
Print subscribers to any of our magazine get free access to digital editions of the magazine.
Digital only subscribers receive 1 year of digital issues plus 6 back issues from the previous year.

How do I gain access to the digital edition of my magazine on my Apple or Android Device?

What is my username/password to log into magazine app?
If you are a print magazine subscriber, you will need your email address and last name to log into the app. If you are a digital magazine subscriber, use your email address and last name.

I have purchased a subscription through this app but I'm still being asked to pay for issues.
Purchasing a subscription directly through this app (at the iTunes or Google Play store) will make the most recent issue and any issues released within the time that your subscription remains active available to you. Issues published before your subscription started, or after your subscription expires will still need to be purchased.

Downloading issues of the magazine
If an issue is free or you have previously purchased it, you can tap the "Download" button to save the edition to your device. Please be patient while issues are downloading. There will be a bar to show the progress of your download, but these are large files and may take up to a few minutes. You must be connected to Wi Fi to download an issue. Once downloaded, it can be viewed offline.

Archiving issues of the magazine
On the shelf, if a magazine is saved on your device you will see an "Archive" button below the cover image. Tapping this once will archive the issue, helping to free up space on your device. Once archived, the issue will remain visible for you to download again at any time.

The application is using a lot of space on my device, how can I reduce this?
Each issue can be quite large. If a magazine issue is saved on your device you will see an "Archive" button below the cover. Tapping this once will archive the issue, helping to free up space on your device. Once archived, the issue will remain visible for you to download again at any time.

The magazine download keeps freezing, how can I restart it?
When you start a magazine download, the process is then taken over by your device's operating system. These downloads are usually very stable, but if you are having problems there are a few things you can do to try to get it working properly:

  • Connect the device to a Wi Fi connection, rather than trying to download over 3G, GPRS, etc.
  • Connect the device to a power source
  • Restart the device entirely - this will clear the download queue and you can start the process again from the beginning.
