Subscriptions

How much does a subscription to Dwell cost?
The basic annual rate for Dwell is $28.00 for 6 issues in the United States and US$34.95 for 6 issues in Canada. This includes GST. Outside the United States and Canada, the cost for one year (6 issues) is US$49.95 (payable in US funds or by a credit card drawn on a United States bank). At this time we do not offer airmail service.

Change of Address

How can I change my subscription address?
Avoid delays or missed issues by sending us your change of address information 6 weeks in advance. We need both your current name and address as it appears on your mailing label along with your new address. Address changes can be submitted online or call 1-877-939-3553 (within the U.S.), 1-515-248-7683 (outside the U.S.). Note: the Postal Service will not forward periodicals mail so you will need to notify us of the change of address in advance of your move.

Expiration

When does my subscription expire?
The expiration date is printed on the mailing label of every issue – in the upper right hand corner.

My subscription doesn't expire soon so why am I receiving renewal notices?
To make sure your account is always up to date, we send out Dwell renewal notices in plenty of time to renew your subscription before it expires. We also offer special rates to subscribers who renew early.

Payment/Billing

What are my different subscription payment options?
Payment can be made online, by phone or mail. Check payments can be mailed along with your invoice in the enclosed, pre-addressed envelope. If you can't locate the envelope you can send payment to:

Please do not send cash through the mail. When paying by phone, please call us toll-free at 1-877-939-3553 (within the U.S.), 1-515-248-7683 (outside the U.S.) and have your invoice and credit card information available. We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express.

If I choose to use my credit card when I order on Dwell's order page, is it safe?
Yes, as long as your current browser supports secure credit card transactions. To determine this, look at the bottom corner of your browser. When you are at a secure site, you will see a solid key on Netscape browsers and a closed padlock on Internet Explorer browsers. If the site is not secure, the key will appear broken and the padlock will appear unlocked.

Why do I still keep getting invoices?
If you have sent payment or cancellation instructions within the past 4 weeks, but received a second invoice, most likely the letters simply crossed in the mail. Please ignore this invoice, our computers will credit your account going forward. If you continue to receive invoices, or your subscription has lapsed, please contact us at 1-877-939-3553 (within the U.S.), 1-515-248-7683 (outside the U.S.).

Late/Missed Issues

My issue seems to be late. What gives?
If you have seen Dwell on the newsstand and have not yet received your copy, it's probably in the mail. Please allow until after the first day of the current issue month before reporting a problem. For example, if you have not yet received the February issue of Dwell, please wait until February 2nd before contacting us. We do try to ensure that subscriber copies arrive in-home before they are on the newsstand. However, there are sometimes postal fluctuations that are beyond our control.

What months do you publish the magazine?
Dwell is published 6 times a year. The issues are labeled February, March, April, May, June, Jul/Aug, September, October, November, and Dec/Jan.

What should I do if I missed an issue?
Dwell works to provide subscribers with the most reliable and consistent delivery possible. If an issue of Dwell is missing or damaged and your subscription is paid you can request replacement copies online or via our toll-free number 1-877-939-3553 (within the U.S.), 1-515-248-7683 (outside the U.S.).

Privacy

Will my name be added to other mailing lists?
We sometimes make our subscriber list available to carefully screened organizations whose products and services may be of interest to you. If you prefer not to have your name made available, please send us a copy of your mailing label with your request to:

A limited number of print back issues are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for $20 each (US). Outside the U.S. $5 additional shipping applies, add to per print issue cost. Orders must be pre-paid. To order, call 1-877-939-3553 (toll-free in US & Canada).
