When is the best time to reach National Geographic's Customer Service Center by telephone?

For members in the US and Canada, operators at National Geographic's Customer Service Center (1-800-647-5463) are available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT, Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT. Customer service operators outside the US are available during normal business hours in their region.

Unauthorized Renewals and Subscription Offers Through the Mail and by Phone: We have learned that a number of unauthorized agents are sending mail solicitations and placing telemarketing calls, attempting to acquire new subscriptions and renewal orders for our magazine titles. These agents are not approved to represent National Geographic, nor are they affiliated with National Geographic in any way. Please do not give out any personal, payment or credit card information. Do not renew your subscription through the mail or over the phone with any of the unauthorized agents listed here.

Back Issues

Back issues of the printed editions are not considered part of a subscription order. Available back copies can be purchased online or through our single copy sales office. Please visit our website: www.natgeo.com/backissues. Prices may vary, and the availability of an issue may differ according to consumer demand.

Lifetime Subscriptions - Print Edition

Lifetime Subscriptions are offered only to individuals who reside in the United States. Purchasing a Lifetime Subscription entitles you to receive monthly issues of National Geographic magazine during your entire lifetime. The Lifetime Subscription fee is currently $895, and full payment is required before the subscription can be entered. A sales tax will be added where applicable. A Lifetime Subscription can be entered in one name only. Once entered, a Lifetime Subscription is not transferable, nor is the fee refundable. To order a Lifetime Subscription, please contact 1-800-237-5051 (U.S./Canada) or 1-515-237-3674 if you are outside the U.S. & Canada.

Lifetime Subscriptions - Digital Edition

At this time, we are not accepting orders for Digital only Lifetime Subscriptions.

Free Gifts for Paid Subscriptions

National Geographic regrets that free gifts are not automatically included with all membership/subscription orders.

If your subscription order included a free gift, please note that gifts are usually sent upon receipt of payment. Once payment has been received, your free gift will be shipped. In the U.S. and Canada, your free gift should arrive within 6 weeks. All other countries please allow 8 - 12 weeks for delivery.

Collector's Listing/ Donating Back Issues

Where can I donate my collection of past issues of National Geographic magazine?

National Geographic does not accept back copies of National Geographic magazine. Therefore, you may wish to donate your back copies to your local schools, hospitals, and/or charities. We have a Collector's Corner on our website, which includes a dealer list and a Collector's Forum where you can post a notice regarding your collection.

Large Print

National Geographic does not publish National Geographic material in large print or any other special editions for the visually handicapped. However, materials published by National Geographic are regularly selected for reproduction in Braille or recorded form and are distributed through regional programs of the U.S. National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (lcweb.loc.gov/nls/).

Account Status

The Account Summary option on the Service Options menu lists your magazine subscription(s), expiration date and status for each. It also provides a quick glance at what subscriptions have expired or will soon expire and gives you the opportunity to conveniently renew online.

The Service Options menu and Account Summary provides details about your personal profile, such as your name and billing information, and gives you the opportunity to update such information.

Change of Address

You can update your address easily by signing in to your subscription account and click or tap "Change My Address" link from the Service Options menu.

Billing/Payment
U.S. and Canadian Members:

If you would like to check payment status online or to pay your bill in full using your credit card, visit the Account Summary and Make A Payment option on the Service Options menu to make a payment.

If you have already paid your bill, but are still receiving invoices, please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your payment. If it has been less than two weeks since you sent your payment, please disregard any invoices that you receive, as we may be unable to intercept them in the mail. If it has been more than two weeks since you remitted payment, please contact us.

If you ordered through an agent (such as Magazines.com, please check with the agent to ensure that your order was received and processed. The agent will handle all customer service issues.

Renewals

Login to the customer care website and renew your subscription or gift subscriptions. Your renewal order will be added to the end of your current subscription. We will contact you well in advance of your subscription expiration date by email so that you will not miss any future issues. Renewal orders should be received at least 8 weeks prior to subscription expiration to ensure your issues will be delivered without an interruption in service.

Cancellation
U.S. and Canada

Login to the customer care website to cancel a subscription. You may also contact us by e-mail or phone at 1-800-647-5463.

If you cancelled your subscription, but are still receiving bills, please note that it takes a few days for a cancellation to become effective. Therefore, if you receive any invoices after you have cancelled, please ignore them. If you ordered through an agent (e.g., Magazines.com, you should also check with that agent to ensure that your cancellation request was received and processed.

Stop Automatic Renewal

If your subscription or gift subscription is on an Automatic Renewal plan and you wish to Stop Automatic Renewal, click or tap the "Order Options" button next to the appropriate magazine. Select "Stop Automatic Renewal" and follow the steps on the screen. You may also contact us by e-mail or phone at 1-800-647-5463. If you stop automatic renewal, we'll remind you when it's time to renew.

Report a Missing or Damaged Print Issues
U.S. and Canada

Visit the Account Summary on the Service Options menu and click or tap the "Order Options" button next to the appropriate magazine. Select "Report Missing/Damaged" issue and follow the steps on the screen. If your issue frequently arrives damaged and your mailbox is sufficiently sized, then check with the post office to see if the magazine arrives in good condition. If it does not, then please contact us by e-mail. Replacement issues should arrive in 3-6 weeks.

Late or Missed Print Issues
U.S. and Canada

If you have missed an issue, we may have an incorrect address on file. Please verify your address on your Account Summary. Your magazines may also have stopped being delivered due to nonpayment. Please also check the payment status on your account. Any outstanding balance on your account will be listed on the page.

If none of these explanations apply, please login to report the missed issue. Your subscription will be extended to make up for the missed issue. If you would prefer to receive a replacement issue, please contact us by e-mail.

Duplicate Subscriptions

If you are receiving duplicate copies of a magazine, please contact us by phone at 1-800-647-5463 or email customer service including the account information on both copies of the magazine.

Foreign Language Edition Information - Print Editions

National Geographic works with publishers around the world to produce foreign-language editions. Note: English-language subscriptions cannot be exchanged for non-English subscriptions. What is included in a subscription?

There are several subscription options for National Geographic magazine:

  • Print-Only includes National Geographic magazine delivered to your mailbox.
  • Digital-Only includes subscriber-exclusive content and new stories published daily; Unlimited access to our digital archive; immersive online-only experiences and unlimited access to natgeo.com; downloadable stories to read on-the-go with our ad-free, mobile app for Apple® and Android® devices and a curated subscriber newsletter delivered weekly.
  • Print+Digital includes both the Print edition delivered to your mailbox and Digital Access described above.
What is the Online Archive?

  1. How do I get access to the Online Archive?
    Access to the Online Archive requires having a subscription to National Geographic magazine. To access, you will need to sign in using your MyDisney email and password. If you have not already set-up a MyDisney account, you can do so by visiting www.nationalgeographic.com and click on LOGIN at the top of the page to create an account/password.   2. Forgot your password?
    To reset your password, visit www.nationalgeographic.com and click on LOGIN at the top of the page to reset your password.
How do I upgrade, change, or cancel my subscription?

How do I cancel the digital subscription I purchased through Apple News, Amazon Appstore, Barnes & Noble, Google Play or another third party vendor?

You will have to cancel your subscription by contacting the digital partner through whom it was purchased.

iPad and iPhone Support

For the best app experience, please ensure that you have the most recent version of iOS and of the app. The minimum iOS requirement for the National Geographic app is iOS 13.2 or higher. For the Android operating system, the minimum requirement is Android 5 or higher.
