Accessing your account
To access your subscription account:
1. From the Newsstand, launch the app by tapping the magazine cover, then tap "My Account" in the upper right corner. Or, if already browsing through an issue, tap anywhere on the screen to show the navigation bar at the bottom of the page, then tap "Store/Library" or "Home" to access "My Account."
2. If you are not already signed into the app, tap "Sign In" under Customer Support for Digital Subscribers, then enter your email address and password, and tap "Submit."
3. Tap "Manage Subscription."
If you experience difficulty accessing the app, make sure the same email address registered in the Hearst network was used to purchase your digital subscription, and not your Apple ID. This email address appears on your subscription activation email. However, if you typed your email address incorrectly while purchasing your digital subscription, your order confirmation and subscription activation emails, or any password reset attempts would be sent to the incorrect email address. In this case, email us a request to adjust your email address in our records, and we will send you a notification after the correction is made.Return to Top

How do subscriptions and the apps work?
The apps consist of free libraries in which you can subscribe to our magazines, or buy and manage individual issues.
The installed apps will appear on the iPad Newsstand, a folder which provides easy access to app subscriptions, automatically updates them in the background when new issues are released, and includes a built-in store for purchasing subscriptions. Only purchased titles are displayed individually on the Newsstand virtual bookshelf.
When you purchase a subscription through the app, you will be able to download every issue, starting with the current one until your subscription ends. However, your subscription does not include access to previous issues made available before you subscribed.
To access issues in a digital subscription, first download the free app from the App Store (tap here for a list of links to our apps).
Purchased issues do not expire. They can be stored in the My Library section of the app. Archiving your issues allows you to download them again at any time without being charged.Return to Top
What's the difference between the iPad edition and the digital editions sold by Zinio, NOOK, and Kindle?
The iPad edition is built specifically for the iPad on our proprietary platform. The other editions are built in the platform specific to their respective devices.
The level of enhancement or interactivity varies for each device platform, which may result in digital content distinctions. Some apps are a reproduction of the print edition, while others are enhanced with simple features such as animation, or richly optimized with multimedia and interactivity.
Below is a list of digital content across our apps by platform. A Replica is a carbon copy of the print edition, featuring the same layout, text, articles, photos, and advertisements. An Enhanced version includes redesigned pages, video and audio extras, rotating product views, active hyperlinks, and interactivity.
* Indicates additional limited interactivity.

How do I delete and reinstall the app?
From the Newsstand, tap and hold down the magazine app icon until it starts to shake. Tap the black "X" at the top left corner, and then tap "Delete" in the notification box. Return to the App Store and reinstall the magazine app. If you have already purchased issues, you can re-install them for free: tap "My Account," tap "Restore Magazines," then tap the "Restore" button. Then re-download previously purchased issues.Return to Top
My app keeps crashing. What do I do?
Restarting the app will typically resolve this problem. If not, delete and re-install the app. You will never have to pay again for something you have already purchased, as long as you are on the same account.
On reinstall, you will see a box asking if you wish to restore all purchases; press "Yes". If you miss that box, tap "Missing Issues" in the Library list to get back access to all previously purchased issues and subscriptions.
If you are running iOS5 or later, you can send us crash reports by doing this: Go to your iPad's Settings > General > About > Diagnostics & Usage > Automatically Send.
If you still experience problems with your app after following the previous steps, contact email@example.com for assistance.Return to Top
I downloaded an issue, but when I open it, I just see a black screen. What should I do?
Try archiving the issue and then re-downloading it (just tap and hold on the cover in the My Downloaded Issues section of the app, then tap the "Archive" button). If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the app to your iPad. This often fixes small glitches, and you will not be charged again. Just tap the red "Missing Issues?" link located in My Downloaded Issues. Follow the prompts until your subscription or previously purchased issues are restored. Then download your issue again.Return to Top
The app is asking me to purchase the latest issue, but I have an active App Store subscription.
Some of my previously purchased issues are missing.
I'm being asked to purchase issues I've already bought.
If the issues you have purchased are not listed in your Library, or have a red "Buy" button in the store instead of a green "Download" button, first make sure you are on the same account used when you purchased the subscription, which may be either your Apple ID account or Hearst Direct account. Then tap the red "Missing Issues?" link located in the My Library section of the app. Follow the prompts until your subscription or previously purchased issues are restored. If that does not work, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. Do not attempt to purchase the issue - you will be charged again! If you have recently upgraded or reinstalled your app, you will have to go through this process to remind the app that you are a subscriber.Return to Top
Why is the issue taking forever to download?
Make sure you have a strong WiFi connection. The issues will not download over a 3G connection. If there are other devices currently on your WiFi connection, consider disabling them temporarily until the issues are downloaded. If possible, move your iPad closer to the router. This will ensure that the strongest possible connection is enabled. Check to see if there are any other downloads in progress on your iPad. If there are, wait until they have completed before downloading the issues.Return to Top
Does each monthly issue expire?
No. Once you purchase the issue, you can store the issue in the My Downloaded Issues section of the app. If you decide to archive it, you can download it again at any time without being charged.Return to Top
I have a billing problem.
Please email us. We'll do our best to help.Return to Top
I am a print magazine subscriber. Can I get the digital issues as part of my subscription?
A print subscription typically does not include free access to the digital edition. However, periodically, limited-time offers are promoted for print subscriptions including access to the digital edition for free or a low additional charge.Return to Top
Can I transfer my print subscription to a digital subscription?
Yes. Issues remaining in your print subscription may be transferred to the Zinio digital version at no additional cost. To do so, log into your print subscription account to submit your transfer request (you can find links to the customer service sites here). You will receive an email notification from Zinio when your first issue is available.
To access your digital issues in the iPad, download the Zinio App from the App Store. If you do not already have an account with Zinio, register by using the same email address associated with your print subscription account. For additional information, visit Zinio Support for the iPad.Return to Top
